LH4 Brand Alfalfa has outstanding tolerance to Potato Leaf Hoppers, which is a considerable problem in the Northeast where the insects usually occur annually and affect yield, quality, or persistence. Feeding by these insects causes severe stunting of the plants and yellowing or reddening of the foliage. Leafhopper damage starts in wedge-shaped areas at the tips of the leaves.
